ABOUT ME
Hello! So, a little about me. I am originally from Chicago, IL. I spent 18 years there then went to the University of Florida where I was fortunate enough to do many activities including becoming a University of Florida Cheerleader, studying abroad two times as well as visiting over 15 countries during those times. I learned to absolutely love to travel and respect every culture for what is truly is. I was grateful to graduate in 4 years and received a full-ride to the University of Georgia where I graduated with my Masters degree in Food science in May of 2021. During that time, I fell in love with my research and began my Ph.D. program in June of 2021 where I am work to develop innovative ingredients using Georgia-caught Cannonball jellyfish.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Food Ingredient Development
Using abundant and/or sustainable resources to create new ingredients that can be used in a variety of food applications!
I like the thought of doing science that when others hear of they laugh at or call a waste of time and then you turn it in to something novel and a trend begins to form from it.
Food Waste

With upwards of 30% of all food being produced getting wasted, finding innovative ways to use products before they go bad and get thrown out is a passion of mine.
Childhood Obesity
​
As someone who suffered from weight issues, finding innovative ways to create healthier, more affordable food products for lower income communities is a long-term goal on mine.
